Natalie Portman was in an environmental pop group as a kid
Who knew Natalie Portman had a career in music before gracing our silver screens? James Corden dug up the actress' musical past and revealed on Thursday night that she was a part of the World Patrol Kids. The fifth-grade Portman would sing about recycling and environmental issues. But for some reason, it doesn't seem as totally lame as you'd think. Reunion soon? Terrible person tweets strobing GIF at journalist who has epilepsy
On Friday, Kurt Eichenwald, a prominent liberal journalist and senior writer at Newsweek, announced that he would be temporarily leaving Twitter after a troll gave him a seizure. According to Eichenwald's tweets, a "deplorable" troll seemingly aware that the reporter had epilepsy tweeted a strobe with the message, "you deserve a seizure." Shortly after, the reporter claimed that he did in fact, suffer a seizure. Eichenwald then claimed he would be pursuing legal action and only using his Twitter account to share copies of documents related to the crime. Numerous celebrities, from Bob Odenkirk to Moby to America's favorite president Jed Bartlett (aka Martin Sheen), have lined up for a new video urging the Electoral College to dump Trump on Monday. The Dec. 19 vote is pretty much the last chance to derail a Trump presidency, and would require 37 Republican electors to vote for someone else, taking Trump below the 270-vote threshold he needs to get to the White House. Nearly 5 million members of the public have urged them to do this, and now a host of celebs insist that Trump lacks the qualifications, stability and respect for the Constitution that the office demands. Rogue One is standing by at the North American box office — and though it won't do anything close to The Force Awakens numbers this weekend, early returns indicate that the Force is strong with the galaxy's first Star Wars spinoff. According to early estimates shared with Mashable, Rogue One is taking in $60 million for its Thursday late shows and Friday totals, well on its way to a $135 million to $140 million start. Worldwide, Disney's second dip into the Lucasfilm well was expected to soar past $300 million in gross receipts. It all apparently stemmed from a tweet Thursday morning directed at the magazine and its editor Graydon Carter, a longtime Trump nemesis.

Pinterest has fallen short of its own goal to hire more women in tech roles, despite modest overall progress towards a more diverse workforce in the past year. The social scrapbooking site released a yearly update on employee demographics in a blog post Friday. In it, the company stacked the diversity of its hires over the past year against ambitious target quotas it had set for itself. Pinterest said it managed to boost the portion of women in its tech departments from 21 percent to 26 percent — a marked improvement from the year before, when the number remained stagnant. After beloved NBA reporter Craig Sager died and left a gaping hole in the basketball universe, he was honored Thursday night in utterly perfect fashion. Just before tipoff of a national televised game between the Warriors and Knicks — a game that, in an alternate timeline, Sager may well have worked — Warriors coach Steve Kerr called both his team and the Knicks to center court and addressed the crowed. Sager became a luminary of the basketball world in a way few reporters ever do. His gentle sense of humor and lack of self-seriousness were what truly made him a treasure — even though it was his loud, often garish suits that made the biggest initial impression.
