J.K. Rowling is scared sh*tless after watching Trump's press conference

While many Americans were left speechless, struggling to put their thoughts on Donald Trump's press conference into words, our British hero logged on Twitter to save the day.

J.K. Rowling, author, superwoman and avid Trump challenger, eloquently summarized POTUS's bizarre impromptu presser with a single powerful, humorous and eerily accurate burn.

On Thursday afternoon, Trump kicked the presser off by nominating Alexander Acosta for secretary of the Department of Labor, and from there it was all downhill.

Watching the president rant and rave about not ranting and raving was terrifying in and of itself, not least when he even claimed drugs were becoming cheaper than candy bars. Read more...

This Time cover totally nails the chaos in Trump's White House right now

From a presidential campaign riddled with connections to Russian officials to a hastily launched immigration ban that's been struck down by courts repeatedly, the White House isn't exactly in the best shape right now.

Even if Trump wouldn't tell you that.

That image — one of a presidency in the midst of chaos while still trying to deny the obvious — is at the heart of Time Magazine's newest cover.

In an accompanying animation posted to Twitter Thursday, his trademark hair flutters in a violent gust of wind and rain, while loose papers fly all around him. All of it's captioned by a statement that captures the essence of the always in-denial, artificially confident Trump — "Nothing to see here." Read more...

Turns out there is hope for true love, and it's from Twitter

Genie Bouchard learned what we all did a couple a weeks ago — never, under any circumstances, should you bet against Tom Brady.

The 22-year-old Canadian tennis star – and 2017 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model – ended up losing that wager to a dude on Twitter, agreeing to go on a date with him if the New England Patriots mounted a miraculous, 25-point comeback. The Patriots did, of course, win the Super Bowl, so Bouchard and 20-year-old Mizzou student John Goehrke hit the Nets game in Brooklyn Wednesday night.

Like the rest of us, Bouchard thought the Patriots had no chance of winning Super Bowl LI. Down 28-3 in the third quarter, the odds didn't look great. But on the off chance the Patriots did come back, Goehrke made sure to capitalize.  Read more...

Using Microsoft Word with the MacBook Pro Touch Bar is pretty cool

I like the MacBook Pro’s Touch Bar, Apple’s baby step toward a touchscreen Mac that may never happen. It can be helpful (scrolling through a filmstrip of photo thumbnails) and fun (playing Pac-Man).

But the thin touch-sensitive screen that sits above the keyboard will remain a curiosity for most until it can partner with our most-used productivity applications, like Microsoft Office. Well, that's happening. Microsoft released a public update to Office that includes Touch Bar support on Thursday.

For those of you unfamiliar with Microsoft’s productivity suite on macOS, it’s just as powerful and smooth as it is on Microsoft’s Windows 10. If you’ve ever used Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Outlook on Windows or even on the web via Office 365, the macOS version will be instantly familiar. Read more...

'For Honor' fans debating whether or not it's cool to gang up on people: Yes it is

Sometimes, it's OK to do the dishonorable thing. Even when the game you're playing is literally called: For Honor.

If you've been keeping up with Ubisoft's just-released "knights vs. samurai vs. vikings" melee combat game — particularly the conversations going on in its subreddit — you might have noticed a debate brewing. One camp thinks it's cool for two people to gang up on a solo warrior; the other camp refuses, calling such a move dishonorable.

Some explanation is in order. There are several different PvP modes in For Honor. The marquee "Dominion" mode is like a no-guns take on Call of Duty's Domination, with two teams of four vying for control of three capture points. A 1v1 duel mode is exactly what it sounds like: two players face off in a best-of-five match. Read more...

Kylie Jenner's 'Snap Opera' is back but this time it's in Spanish

¡El drama!

Kylie Jenner's Snapchat soap opera has returned and this time it's set up like a telenovela. Jenner first debuted her opera last year during New York Fashion Week and it starred Kendall Jenner, Hailey Baldwin, and Harry Hudson. She released her Spanish follow up around the same time so it could become a fashion week tradition.

The Snap sequel followed the previous one's plot line: a love triangle featuring Kylie, her assistant, Victoria Villarroel, and makeup artist Ariel Tejada. Since both Tejada and Villarroel are Latinx, it could explain why Jenner decided to film a Spanish telenovela.  Read more...

Donald Trump should really learn who April Ryan is

April Ryan is a journalism institution. She has covered three sitting presidents as White House correspondent for American Urban Radio Networks, regularly appears on MSNBC and is among the most visible black female journalists in the U.S.

Donald Trump clearly doesn't know all that based on how he treated Ryan during Thursday's press conference.

Ryan asked Trump a question about his previously stated commitment to improving conditions in "inner cities" in the U.S.

"Do you want to set up the meeting? Do you want to set up the meeting? Are they friends of yours?" Trump said.

"I'm just a reporter. I know some of them," Ryan responded. Read more...

Sprint now has the cheapest unlimited plan, but its 4G LTE network is the worst

Verizon and T-Mobile aren't the only U.S. mobile networks with new "unlimited" data plans trying to win your hard-earned money.

Sprint, the fourth largest carrier in America, announced on Thursday a new "Unlimited Freedom" plan that matches Verizon and T-Mobile's and costs less.

Like its rivals, Sprint's "unlimited" plan offers unlimited calling, texts, and a solid amount of usable data (23GB) at 4G LTE speeds (speeds may be reduced during network congestion times after exceeding the data limit), unlimited HD video streaming and 10GB of mobile hotspot data per line. Congress is literally using 'Stranger Things' on the House floor to make a point about Trump

"We are now stuck in the Upside Down. Right is wrong, up is down, black is white."

Washington representative David Cicilline took to the House floor on Feb. 16 with a visual aide and a handful of metaphors drawing the comparison between President Trump, the current political climate, and the hit sci-fi television show Stranger Things. Really.

Cicilline used the extended metaphor to call out all the oxymorons that have occurred in Trump's first few weeks as President.

Scientists need your help to find the mysterious planet they suspect is lurking in our solar system

Calling all space fans: Astronomers want you to help them hunt for a large planet that might be lurking on the outskirts of our solar system.

Scientists working with a number of institutions have created a website filled with data that will allow people to hunt for previously undiscovered objects circling the sun from beyond Neptune's orbit.

The website, called Backyard Worlds: Planet 9, asks people to look through flipbooks of images to try to find "failed stars," known as brown dwarfs, or even the elusive "Planet 9" — a theoretical planet thought to circle the sun from the reaches of the solar system. Read more...

As of Thursday, it's about saving the world.

That's what Mark Zuckerberg announced in a 6,000-word manifesto detailing how Facebook will look to create the "infrastructure" that will help solve some of the world's biggest problems.

Yes, really.

Seth Rogen has a last-ditch effort to get Trump out of the White House

Not even 100 days into Trump's presidency, we have resorted to Seth Rogen's Twitter DMs to save the country.

Trump follows up bizarre press conference with even weirder email

Just moments after President Donald Trump's surreal, whirlwind press conference came to a close Thursday, the Trump campaign sent out a very strange email.

The email posits that the media is an enemy that must be deflected, inviting recipients to take a survey about how much they hate CNN, MSNBC, Fox News and all mainstream media. "Instead, you — the American people — are our last line of defense against the media’s hit jobs." But there's more. As if to drive the point home with the hammer of Thor, the 25 questions are branded "the Mainstream Media Accountability Survey."

Most of the questions lead the reader to confirm an assertion about how unfairly Trump has been treated by the media, or the "opposition party" as his top strategist Steve Bannon calls it. But, give them credit for knowing their audience. The whole thing is just one giant example of confirmation bias, aimed at people already on Trump's campaign mailing list. The survey basically says: The media is terrible. You agree, right? Read more...

Beautiful photo strips capture the moment a man finds out he's going to be a dad

Pregnancy announcements have become just as much of a thing as extravagantly planned proposals.

We can't blame all those parents-to-be out there. The news that you are going to have a baby is a big deal, and it deserves to be shared in whichever way you see fit. But sometimes, the crafting of an elaborate announcement overshadows what is really important: the announcement itself.

Sometimes, the most touching way of sharing the news with your significant other is just to do it simply. The real treasure of the moment becomes your partner's reaction.

Antarctica just shed a Manhattan-sized iceberg, and a bigger one is coming soon

An iceberg the size of Manhattan has cleaved off of Antarctica's rapidly melting Pine Island Glacier on the southwest coast of the continent. NASA released the new data showing the iceberg's birth on Feb. 15, though the imagery was acquired between Jan. 26 and Jan. 31.

The agency says "about a kilometer or two of ice" broke off the glacier's floating ice shelf during this period, making it a large iceberg but comparitively small in the recent history of this particular area.

According to Ian Howat, a glaciologist at Ohio State University, the event was about 10 times smaller than the chunk of ice that broke off the same glacier in July 2015, when a 20-mile, or 30-kilometer, rift developed and calved an iceberg spanning 225 square miles. Read more...

Chill out, woolly mammoths aren't coming back just yet

Woolly mammoths won't be trouncing through the Arctic tundra anytime soon.

Contrary to recent headlines, which herald the extinct beast's coming resurrection, scientists are still a long way from figuring out how to revive the elephant ancestor.

Woolly mammoths roamed the planet for hundreds of thousands of years before they vanished about 4,000 years ago. Paleontologists say the culprit for the die-off was possibly overhunting, or changes in mammoth's food supply after the last Ice Age.

A camp of scientists — known as "revivalists" — are dedicated to bringing mammoths back in the modern era for environmental and biological reasons. Some researchers have made important early progress, although nothing is close to leaving the lab. Read more...

The protest, which was intended to show how heavily America relies on immigrants in the workforce, took quite the toll on the fast food chain's employee count, causing many die-hard Mickey D's fans to miss a day of burgers and fries.

Though it is unclear whether the chains voluntarily closed or were simply lacking workers, McDonald's fans and employees across the country shared many updates via Twitter on locations that were either completely out of business for the day or operating with limited service. Read more...

Zuckerberg removed a line about monitoring private messages from his Facebook manifesto

Mark Zuckerberg's vision for AI was initially somewhat creepier than what he shared in his epic 6,000-word manifesto about the future of Facebook.

In the post, Zuckerberg briefly touches on how artificial intelligence can be used to detect terrorist propaganda.

"Right now, we're starting to explore ways to use AI to tell the difference between news stories about terrorism and actual terrorist propaganda so we can quickly remove anyone trying to use our services to recruit for a terrorist organization," he wrote

That sounds like a straightforward enough application of AI — one that's in line with what Zuckerberg and other executives have discussed in the past — but it's different from what the CEO had originally written. Read more...

Five years later, NBA star's viral ad set to become a feature film

You've seen the "Uncle Drew" commercials. But are you ready for the movie?

Because that's about to happen. So continues the unlikely rise of a concept that was never even intended to be a broadcast ad in the first place.

"Uncle Drew," for the uninitiated, is the advertising alter ego of Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving. Irving dons old clothes and heaps on tons of makeup to transform into Uncle Drew, an old geezer who breaks ankles and dunks on flummoxed pickup hoopers at the park. (Oh, and Uncle Drew wants you to drink Pepsi.)

Uncle Drew made his debut back in May 2012, when a five-minute short film of Irving-dressed-as-Drew became an immediate online sensation. In that original spot, Drew shows up at an outdoor basketball court and dominates pickup players who seem to think they are actually being schooled by an old man, not an NBA star.  Read more...

"The Last Picture Show" uncovers the truth about Archie's (KJ Apa) current flame a lot sooner than expected. After last week's cliffhanger, Betty (Lili Reinhart) is on the warpath trying to figure out just what is going on with her BFF and the high school music teacher.  Read more...

Police are mad about a 'Grand Theft Auto' mod and all the internet can do is LOL

"Underground computer geeks" are now Public Enemy No. 1 in New South Wales.

Authorities are fuming after some gamers added murdering cops modeled after the New South Wales police force along with detailed police cars and helicopters to Grand Theft Auto, a game that's all about breaking the law. But all the internet can do is giggle.

According to Australia's 7 News, so-called "underground computer geeks" are behind the mod. New South Wales Police Minister Troy Grant told the program that the mod "desensitises people to the real risk police face." The report also claims police will be taking action against the modification, somehow. Read more...

14 best quotes about Facebook's master plan from Mark Zuckerberg's press tour

Mark Zuckerberg dropped a whopper of a manifesto on Thursday to tell everyone about some ambitious, if vague, plans he has in mind for Facebook.

The gist: The social network will no longer just be a way to pretend you're still friends with high school classmates; instead, it's going to save the world

Just in case his 6,000 words weren't enough, he also took questions from reporters ahead of time. Along with getting first crack at naming the unusual document — BuzzFeed went with the "Zuck Doctrine," while Recode chose "Mark Manifesto" — journalists were able to tease a bit more information out of its author. Everyone's been there: It's late on a Friday, you're stuck in a crowded office, desperately checking your watch ... and then you get handed a bloody birthday card.

What are you meant to do? Well, if your name is Brendan, then you devise an incredible, corner-cutting, time-saving device.

See, overwhelmed by the rigours of dotting his signature down on a piece of paper, Brendan decided to outsource the work to mechanical means ...

Fumed Indians continue to troll NYT over 2-year-old cartoon mocking their space agency

Some people just can't let it go — and the New York Times is learning this the hard way.

Two years ago, when India's space agency ISRO put the Mangalyaan robotic probe into orbit around Mars — and did so at one of the lowest budgets to date — the New York Times published an opinion piece on the development with an arguably distasteful cartoon

A bike helmet with turn signal lights will make rides a whole lot safer

Cars have indicator lights for better safety — so why don't bicycles too?

The Lumos helmet is a helmet for cyclists with a prominent red brake light, as well as yellow left and right turn signals, like what you'd see on motorised vehicles.

Created by Jeff Chen and Ding Eu-wen, the Lumos is currently getting built, after a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised $800,000 last July.

The helmet is controlled through a small wireless remote that you clip onto the handlebar.

How much time do you spend waiting for stuff to load?

Not as much time as animator Raphael Vangelis took to put together this video, that's for sure.

You'll probably recognise the Windows, Google and Facebook ones, including some that'll make you pause wondering why they look so familiar.

You've been saying these emoji names wrong your whole life

It pops up all the time on social media and in jokey message exchanges. It's pretty recognisable.

It's not a super well-known fact, but Unicode — the US company that standardises computerised text — has a tradition of naming emoji using British English.

"While the Unicode Consortium is based in the US, most emoji names use British English," Emojipedia founder Jeremy Burge told Mashable. Read more...

Twitter's new anti-abuse measure stops notifications for threads started by people you've blocked

Twitter's number one priority in the last couple of months has been combatting abuse on the platform.

In November, the company launched a set of measures to get rid of trolls, including a "mute" button that helps users filter out unwanted conversations. In early February, Twitter announced a new "safe search" feature that blocks potentially offensive tweets. And earlier this week, the company stopped notifying people when they were added to lists — though that change was reversed within hours.

Now, Twitter announced it will no longer notify users about replies to threads started by accounts they've blocked or muted — unless those replies are from people they already follow.  Read more...

There's a reason why you feel like time is moving slower in Trump's America

Remember the mild, scandal-free days of the Obama years, when the biggest breaking news of the day was the holy war against Frappucino cups or the First Lady escaping the White House to go to CVS

Yeah. Neither can we.

In less than a month, Trump has laid the groundwork for war in fill-in-the-blank, appointed a reality show loser to guard our nuclear weapons, put a white supremacist in charge of national security and made a nationwide call for more "easy D." As our flawed democracy erodes one Trump tweet at a time, our private lives feel static and sleepy in comparison. For some, time feels like its moving slower in Trump's America, and while the earth is spinning at the same speed it always does, psychologists believe that the perception has to do with the way the brain reacts to stress. Norma Cook, the 89-year old with a super hot young BFF, has died

Last month the internet fell in love with Norma, an 89-year-old California woman, when her adorable friendship with her 31-year-old neighbor went viral. And now together we must mourn her passing.

Chris Salvatore, her BFF who cared for her in her final days, announced her death Thursday on Instagram, saying "It's with a heavy heart that I share the news that earlier this morning the world lost a truly inspiring, beautiful woman."

Cook was diagnosed with leukemia 10 years ago, and as her health began failing in the past year her young friend stepped into the role of primary caregiver.

It's with a heavy heart that I share the news that earlier this morning the world lost a truly inspiring, beautiful woman. Norma is now resting peacefully in the eternal and while she may no longer physically be with us, her spirit will continue to fill the hearts of so many people. Perhaps Norma's lasting legacy is that her story helped the world to see the true meaning of love. Norma reminded me that we all are created to love and all desire to be loved. This year Norma has reminded us what Valentine's Day is all about. To love another is not about living struggle free or never experiencing hurt or loss, but to fully and deeply open our hearts to one another without fear. Obviously, we all know that the best gifts involve a pun of some kind. But when the gift is a really good one, it's not just a gift for the recipient. It's a gift for the internet, too.

And so we invite you, a member of the internet, to enjoy these three-dimensional Tupac socks. The story of these fashionable foot mittens is a simple one: First, Twitter user @ojedge asked his girlfriend to pick him up a "two-pack" of socks.

Then, she delivered.

Asked my gf to buy me a 2-pack of socks and she came back with these wtf pic.twitter.com/94rPig06hO

Kate McKinnon and Hillary Clinton spotted processing this hellscape together

Two Hillary Clintons walk into a bar and simultaneously declare, "I'm with her."

The real Hillary Clinton and Kate McKinnon, Saturday Night Live's resident HRC impersonator, caught up over dinner this week and for the first time, we're wondering if Amy Poehler ever gets FOMO.

According to Page Six, the pair laughed as they dined at Orso in Manhattan on Wednesday evening.  One diner put their own spin on the Trump supporter chant and yelled, "lock him up!"

After dinner, Clinton checked out Glenn Close in Sunset Boulevard and the winner of the popular vote in the 2016 presidential election got a standing ovation from the crowd.  Read more...

Little pug helps his doggie friend out by giving him a great back scratch

Teamwork makes the dream work.

In this video uploaded to Youtube by Storyful Rights Management, a very helpful little pug scratches the back of his much larger pup friend. And the big dog can't get enough. His leg is going wild from all the great doggie scratches.

Lil' Pug saw his friend in need and stepped up to the plate with vigor. Someday we hope Big Dog will return the favor, but he'll have to be careful. That pug is tiny.

Google wants to know what you'd like to see in the Pixel 2

Google's Pixel and Pixel XL are, without question, two of the best Android phones ever created.

There's lots to love. Its "pure" Android software is fast and smooth, the camera is one of the best and sometimes even better than the iPhone's, battery life is excellent and it's Daydream-ready for mobile VR.

But the phones are by no means perfect.

In a post on the Pixel User Community board, Google's Krishna Kumar, the product lead on the Pixel, asks to hear thoughts on the current Pixel phones and what Google can improve for future devices. Read more...

People with disabilities destroy stigma on Twitter with #DisabledAndCute

News flash: You can have a disability and be cute — and a new hashtag is putting people who think otherwise on notice.

The hashtag #DisabledAndCute is bringing fun yet radical body positivity to people with disabilities on Twitter, encouraging the community to share photos of themselves that make them feel attractive or adorable. It brilliantly combines revolutionary self-love with unapologetic visibility, all to empower people with both visible and invisible disabilities.

Twitter user Keah Brown, who lives with cerebral palsy, created the tag this week to show appreciation for her community, and push against the idea that people with disabilities can't be stunning. Read more...

AT&T brings back its unlimited data plan for everyone — too bad it sucks

It's official: unlimited data plans are back.

Following Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint, AT&T finally caved and announced the return of its own unlimited data plan for all customers, and not just customers who are DirecTV or U-Verse subscribers.

Compared to the competition, the AT&T's "unlimited" plan is easily the worst — it's the most expensive and offers fewer features.

A single line costs $100 and each additional line costs $40, which breaks down to the following per month:

  • 1 line: $100

  • 2 lines: $140

  • 3 lines: $180

  • 4 lines: $220 ($180 after you receive a $40 credit) Read more...

Kate Nash to Snapchat: 'Where's my paycheck?'

Snapchat has been having some fun with music on the app. Last month, they helped Ed Sheeran debut 30-seconds of his new song "Shape Of You" via a lens, where users could don blue sunglasses and dance amid fictional disco lights.

But not everyone is playing along. Kate Nash, an English singer-songwriter perhaps best known for the song "Foundations," accused Snapchat of stealing the rights to that exact song. She broadcasted her accusation on Twitter Friday, posting a video of her using the lens:

Hi @Snapchat Do you pay ppl for the use of their work? Been off a record label now for 5 years. Is this legal? I should be paid PLS RETWEET pic.twitter.com/9qq9iKltFG

These internships are most likely to turn into jobs, according to LinkedIn

It's hard to get an internship, but it's even harder to know whether that internship has a chance of becoming a job. Unless you're in an industry where post-internship employment is virtually guaranteed, it's pretty much anyone's guess.

LinkedIn analyzed the profiles of students who landed full-time jobs after summer internships to find out which industries have the most long-term promise for interns.

In-demand skills like accounting and engineering most often led to employment, but other fields like retail made a strong showing for entry-level hiring too.

Apple responds to people's tweets with entire commercials

When it comes to fielding customer service questions on Twitter, most companies are content to respond with a simple at-reply.

But Apple is thinking different.

The Cupertino tech giant just released a series of iPad Pro commercials, each of which address an individual customer's social media concern.

The ads each feature an actor holding a giant print-out of a tweet, while chatting with a helpful narrator. The tweets and usernames are real, but the avatars have been changed to match their presenters.

The idea is to demonstrate how the iPad might help with some of the real frustrations people have with their laptops. Read more...

Samsung's turmoil derails plan to crown its heir apparent

Maybe this was inevitable.

The Friday arrest of Samsung Group Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong was stunning, because it's not every day that the de-facto leader of a giant international corporation gets led away by police. But it was also the culmination of a shady merger that was meant to pave the way for Lee to take the corporate reins from his father, but has instead landed him in court.

Here's how it happened.

Bribery?

Turmoil at the head of Samsung is really just an extension of high-level turmoil that has engulfed the most powerful people in South Korea.  Read more...

German watchdog: Parents, destroy these creepy smart dolls right now

You know how the saying goes: Keep your friends close unless those friends are Wi-Fi connected dolls, in which case you might want to destroy them.

A German government watchdog is urging parents to be on high alert for an unconventional personal security threat that may be lurking in their own homes — a children's doll called "My Friend Cayla."

According to a BCC News report, the German Federal Network Agency said the doll — which has already received complaints in Europe and the U.S. — is in violation of German telecom law, which sounds pretty sketchy for a toy. Read more...

CoverGirl's first male spokesmodel angers Twitter with insensitive Africa tweet

Woof.

Seventeen-year-old James Charles broke ground last October when he was named CoverGirl's first male spokesperson. Since then, Charles has been experiencing all of the blessings of sudden fame, appearing on Ellen, starring in commercials with Katie Perry, and expanding his already extensive group of loyal Twitter followers.

Those followers were in for an unfortunate surprise today however, when Charles tweeted and deleted an extremely insensitive tweet about the often deadly virus, Ebola.

I will no longer support your company as long as he's on the campaign. This was stereotypical & degrading to Africa@COVERGIRL @COVERGIRL pic.twitter.com/RpgMp1lqfg

How corporate giving can go beyond the blank check

Corporate giving has become a fundamental part of company culture around the globe. While it’s true that funding is a critical part of keeping charities operating, just throwing cash at causes isn’t enough if companies want to truly maximize these partnerships. Real partnership comes from companies investing their people’s time, energy and passion on the ground, as well.

Companies showing up to do real work opens opportunity for meaningful connections and bonds between people and partner organizations. Being physically present — whether it’s serving meals, mentoring kids or any number of on-the-ground actions — amplifies their impact and it unites like-minded people within the company toward a shared goal. They may not be on the same team when they’re back at their desks, but while they’re volunteering their time as a company team, they’re united.  Read more...

Atmospheric river slamming California extends from tropics like a ghostly finger

Atmospheric river storms are drought busters in California, dumping huge amounts of rain in narrow corridors within short periods of time. The ongoing storm slamming Los Angeles, the nation's second-largest city, as well as San Diego on Friday brings with it potentially historic amounts of rain, high winds and flood risks.

To truly understand the mechanisms behind this storm, though, you have to turn your attention to the tropics, where the deep moisture originates from. Satellite imagery showing the transport of atmospheric water vapor reveals the atmospheric river lurching like a ghostly finger toward California from the central tropical Pacific Ocean.  Read more...

Please let 'Justice League' be as awesome as this RC Batmobile

Love the movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice or hate it, there’s no denying Batman has the coolest toys. The upcoming sequel, Justice League, promises to raise the bar for caped-crusader gadgetry and transform the Batmobile into the ultimate superhero vehicle.

We won’t see Bruce Wayne’s other car in theaters until December, but Mattel gave us a preview in the form of the most tricked out remote-control car we’ve ever seen.

The charcoal-gray, roughly 2 ft. long by 6-inch tall RC car features spoilers, giant, knobby wheels and was unveiled this week at the New York Toy Fair. According to Mattel, is a replica of the car Ben Affleck's Batman will drive in the new film based on DC Comic book heroes.  Read more...

A man with a nasty habit of suing the EPA now leads it, because why not?

Congrats, America: We now have a Senate-confirmed administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) again.

Oh, except that administrator is Scott Pruitt, the former Oklahoma attorney general who sued the EPA multiple times over what he sees as its overly aggressive environmental regulations. Plus, he denies the mainstream scientific conclusion that human emissions of greenhouse gases are the primary cause of global warming.

So, there are those little caveats.

Pruitt has also questioned the dangers of mercury contamination and other hazardous substances the EPA is in charge of regulating. His record is so one-sided that the Sierra Club calls him simply, "... The most dangerous EPA Administrator in the history of our country." Read more...

The 'Song to Song' trailer is further proof that Ryan Gosling can't resist pianos

The trailer for Song for Song opens with Ryan Gosling's character flirting with a girl at a party — it's awfully familiar to a certain Oscar-bound musical, especially when you learn that Gosling plays a talented pianist with big dreams who falls in love. You'll even hear him singing at the end of the trailer about the two lovers.

"We thought we could just roll, tumblr, song to song, kiss to kiss," narrates Emma St... no, Rooney Mara.

Gosling's musical talent got quite the spotlight in La La Land, but it would seem the actor can't stay away from a piano in this serendipitous storm of new releases. First, there was La La Land: Read more...
