Massive seas of humanity move in these Women's March timelapses
Here's another reminder that the turnout for the hundreds of Women's Marches across the globe Saturday was YUGE. From San Francisco to D.C. to Madison, Wisconsin, throngs of supporters packed streets and parks, a massive show of unity in the wake of the inauguration of Donald Trump as the nation's 45th president. And these timelapses give us an idea of just how immense the groups were, as the crowd moves over minutes and hours, a seemingly never-ending sea of nasty women and allies. Washington, D.C.
The Dallas Stars brilliantly troll Donald Trump
Donald Trump is really, really, really obsessed with numbers, especially those that reflect his popularity, sending members of his staff into the world armed with lies and "alternative facts" to claim the attendance at his inauguration on Friday was HYUGE. Unfortunately for Trump, every indication is that, no matter what he says, there were far fewer people there than the president would like to think and the NHL's Dallas Stars were more than happy to rip on him for it. On Saturday night, just hours after Trump claimed during a speech at the CIA that 1.5 million people had attended his inauguration, the Stars posted the attendance for their game against the Washington Capitals as — you guessed it — 1.5 million. The Democratic Party might have just found the perfect ticket to run against Donald Trump in 2020. This weekend, two of the NBA's most successful coaches posterized Trump with their words. First up was San Antonio Spurs coaching legend Gregg Popovich. "I'd just feel better if somebody was in that position that showed the maturity and psychological and emotional level of somebody that was his age," he said of Trump on Saturday, according to ESPN. He added that "there's a difference between respecting the office of the presidency and who occupies it. And that respect has to be earned. But it's hard to be respectful of someone when we all have kids, and we're watching him be misogynistic and xenophobic and racist and make fun of handicapped people." Read more... Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band may be a long way from home, but The Boss took some time out of his set in Australia on Sunday to talk about the Women's Marches which occurred across the United States on Saturday. “We’re a long way from home, and our hearts and spirits are with the hundreds of thousands of men and women that marched yesterday in every city in America — and in Melbourne!” Springsteen said with his guitar in hand. Springsteen went on spit out a laundry list of causes with a beatnik-type of bounce in his voice. “[They] rallied against hate and division and in support of tolerance, inclusion, reproductive rights, civil rights, racial justice, LGBTQ rights, the environment, wage equality, gender equality, healthcare, and immigrant rights,” said Springsteen. “We stand with you. Before Rachel Carson became the mother of the modern environmental movement, she was stuck in a job that paid the bills but left her restless. A new documentary revisits Carson's days as an information specialist for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in the 1930s and '40s, where at first she filed mundane reports about the agency's conservation work. It was in that role that Carson learned about DDT — a potent pesticide that farmers sprayed indiscriminately over their crops. At least 16 people were killed and dozens injured as an usually widespread outbreak of severe weather tore across the Southeast United States. The severe thunderstorms spawned numerous tornadoes, leaving damage and destruction in their wake. The severe weather is the result of a larger storm system that has barreled across the Southeast all weekend, with the tornado threat slated to move up the East Coast toward the Carolinas by late Sunday night. The storm system is also expected to bring windswept rain to New York and Boston on Monday, where winds could gust as high as 70 miles per hour. Several locations in the Southeast, including Atlanta, were close to setting records for the lowest air pressure on record for the month of January. In possibly Australia's most important privacy case to date, a Federal Court ruling Thursday dealt a severe blow to Australia’s information privacy laws by narrowing the definition of "personal information." Australia's data privacy laws only protect "personal information," which is defined by whether a person is identified or identifiable from data. By reasoning that data is only "personal information" if a person is the actual subject matter of that information, the court's decision means "personal information" may not include data that only reveals identity if linked with other data. This means certain data held by Telstra, including IP addresses, URLs (websites) visited and geolocation data, are not protected by Australian privacy law. They are not subject to any restrictions on processing or disclosure to other entities. Read more... Viviani had just lost a point from an unforced error against her Chinese opponent Xin Yu Wang in the first set. Annoyed, she hit a ball away with her racquet toward the side of the court. That ball then hit a ball kid in the chest, but the force was minimal, according to Italian news outlet Il Sussadario. Group FaceTime video calls could arrive with iOS 11
One of the marquee features of iOS 11 could be group FaceTime calls. According to Israeli website The Verifier, Apple is reportedly working on an update to FaceTime, which will allow up to five people to simultaneously video chat with each other. Users will also be able to start group FaceTime calls directly through group chats in iMessage, the report says. Group video chats would be a welcome addition to FaceTime, thought iOS 11 will certainly not arrive until the fall when the iPhone 8 (or "iPhone X") is expected to make its debut. Read more... Twitter became mildly obsessed with shoes over the weekend. One shoe in particular. Meredith Faust started the discussion about a particular Adidas shoe when she posted this photo on Twitter. Apparently, she happened upon a place where six people standing next to each other were wearing the same shoeSix.
If you're asking yourself "what are thoooose?", those are Adidas Superstars. If you're asking yourself why this picture even matters, it's because Adidas seemed to already had had its moment in the crazy trend spotlight. People, and teens in particular, were obsessed with Adidas Superstars in the late 90s and early 2000s. They were the only shoe to wear. Trust us. Read more... Don Amaro, a Twitter user, told Mashable of the discovery, saying he uncovered it when searching for a tweet of his from last year that read "a*holes not welcome to our island."

Matthew McConaughey has a great story about his dad winning a motorbike
There's something oddly relaxing about listening to Matthew McConaughey tell a story. I think it's his soft, drawling voice. He could pretty much talk about anything and I'd enjoy listening to him. In the video above, he happens to be talking about the time his dad won a motorbike for his brother by winning an obscure bet. We wouldn't want to ruin the punchline, but we will say this: it involves a six-and-a-half-foot tall man, a barn, and a competition to see who can pee the highest... The most surprising team changes in pro 'League of Legends'

The most striking changes happened in North America, South Korea and Europe. Resident Evil 7 is the most perfect game to bear that title. It is not, however, the bold reinvention you might suspect. There are many reasons a person may not love a kiss cam proposal - and one is that you may just never see the ring. Saturday's Atlanta Hawks home game gave us serious déjà vu when a man decided to get down on one knee and ask his girlfriend to marry him during the team's kiss cam segment. Unfortunately for the couple, shortly after popping the question, the ring dropped into the stands. A friend or fan enthusiastically patted the proposer on the back to congratulate him, causing the ring to pop right out of his hand and onto the ground. The pair and their surrounding Hawks fans jumped out of their seats to search the stands for the ring, but whether or not it was found still remains unclear. Read more... Pocket-sized Dobby selfie drone is cute, tiny and way frustrating
It's a good bet that Japanese company Zero Tech was unaware of the Harry Potter connection when it named its pocket-sized drone Dobby. President Donald Trump has assembled a cast of characters to make up his cabinet, and sometimes it feels a lot like a sitcom. But before those campaign rallies became raucous events across the country, Trump gave a rambling introduction to his campaign at Trump Tower in New York City, all the way back in June of 2015. Still riding high from the historic Women’s Marches across the world this weekend and looking for a way to keep up this amazing energy? It's time to form your very own pussy posse. It’s sort of like having a running partner, or even a book club, but instead of focusing on fitness or drinking wine, we’re fighting for our collective future. The idea is to share the load of the everyday grind of activism.
